Your whole cast

Set Polymation up in your AI assistant

3 free exports, no account. Then $10 a month for unlimited.

1. Claude Desktop: one click

  1. Download rivemcp.mcpb (20 MB).
  2. In Claude Desktop open Settings → Extensions, then Advanced settings → Install extension, and pick the file.
  3. Start a new chat. That's it: no Node.js, no terminal, no JSON.

2. Any other assistant

Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and every client that speaks MCP. Needs Node.js 18 or newer.

claude mcp add rivemcp -- npx -y rivemcp

On Windows: claude mcp add rivemcp -- cmd /c npx -y rivemcp

{ "mcpServers": { "rivemcp": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "rivemcp"] } } }

Cursor: ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Restart the client and the tools appear in the next chat.

3. Paste this as your first message

Put your character's path in place of the example: a front view, arms and legs a little apart from the body.

Use Polymation to rig my pixel character at C:/art/hero.png and make it walk, wave and cheer in one .riv. Show me the skeleton before you bake it.

The assistant snaps the art, rigs it with 17 bones, checks the rig with you and bakes the file, the same steps as the try page. Then ask for more: outfits, expressions, a run, a whole cast on one skeleton.

Each export (a .riv, Lottie, Spline or Figma file written) uses one of the 3 free ones; looking, checking and previewing are free. A key from Pricing makes them unlimited on up to 5 computers. Other ways to install, and the standalone binaries: Download. Step-by-step guides: Docs.
